Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La joueuse de flûte or La sirène or La petite sirène by Camille Claudel was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in June 2018. The price achieved of GBP 368,750.00 (€ 416,750.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Camille Claudel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Valse, Première Version in June 2013 with an auction result of GBP 5,122,500.00 (€ 5,978,874.90).

Die Arbeit La joueuse de flûte or La sirène or La petite sirène von Camille Claudel wurde im Juni 2018 in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 368.750,00 (€ 416.750,34) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Camille Claudel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Valse, Première Version im Juni 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.122.500,00 (€ 5.978.874,90).
