In April 2017 Phillips in London held the auction New Now, which included the work Platter with Trout #39 by Calvin Marcus. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,164.18), 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Calvin Marcus achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dead Soldier in May last year with an auction result of USD 151,200.00 (€ 140,900.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im April 2017 führte Phillips in London die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Platter with Trout #39 von Calvin Marcus zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.164,18) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Calvin Marcus erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dead Soldier im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 151.200,00 (€ 140.900,20).
