CALLUM INNES (B. 1962) <span style="font-style: italic;">Exposed Painting, Pewter on White signed and dated 'C Innes. 98' (on the overlap); signed again, signed with artist's initials and dated again 'CALLUM INNES. CI 1 30 98.' (on the stretcher) oil on linen 30 1 ⁄ 2 x 27 3 ⁄ 4 in. (77.5 x 70.5 cm.) Painted in 1998.
Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Exposed Painting, Pewter on White by Callum Innes was sold in the First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in December last year. The price achieved of USD 9,450.00 (€ 8,833.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Callum Innes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Exposed Painting Charcoal Black Violet Red Oxide in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 68,750.00 (€ 77,547.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Exposed Painting, Pewter on White von Callum Innes wurde im Dezember letzten Jahres in der Auktion First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 9.450,00 (€ 8.833,43) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Callum Innes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Exposed Painting Charcoal Black Violet Red Oxide im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 68.750,00 (€ 77.547,91).
