The work Rose by But Mochtar was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2012. The auction ended at the price of HKD 30,000.00 (€ 2,986.57), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by But Mochtar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Patung Elemen Estetik (Study Of Esthetic Principles) in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 3,640,000.00 (€ 338,543.62).

Die Arbeit Rose von But Mochtar wurde im Oktober 2012 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 30.000,00 (€ 2.986,57) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von But Mochtar erzielen.
