This artwork by But Mochtar achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2014. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings auction, the work Family sold for HKD 400,000.00 (€ 37,202.60) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 180,000.00. Admittedly, works by But Mochtar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Patung Elemen Estetik (Study Of Esthetic Principles) in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 3,640,000.00 (€ 338,543.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von But Mochtar erzielte im April 2014 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings wurde die Arbeit Family für HKD 400.000,00 (€ 37.202,60) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 180.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von But Mochtar auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Patung Elemen Estetik (Study Of Esthetic Principles) im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.640.000,00 (€ 338.543,62).
