Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Meteor (Alexander'S Walls Series) by Burhan Cahit Doğançay was sold in the Contemporary Art | New York auction at Sothebys in New York in July 2020. Here, the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 21,250.00 (€ 18,048.24). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Burhan Cahit Doğançay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Whispering Wall Ii in April 2011 with an auction result of GBP 277,250.00 (€ 312,231.28).
