Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Made in Britain, which included the work Standing Form Iv by Brian Wall. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,891.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Brian Wall have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Slab, Wedge And Circle in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 34,939.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Made in Britain durch, in der auch die Arbeit Standing Form Iv von Brian Wall zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.891,24) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Brian Wall auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Slab, Wedge And Circle im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 34.939,06).
