Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Four Circles by Brian Wall was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 13,128.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Brian Wall - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Slab, Wedge And Circle, which sold at auction in July 2008 for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 34,939.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Four Circles von Brian Wall kam im Dezember 2008 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 13.128,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Brian Wall mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Slab, Wedge And Circle beobachtet, die im Juli 2008 für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 34.939,06) versteigert wurde.
