In July 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included this untitled work by Brian Wall. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 13,200.00 (€ 19,605.05), 65% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Brian Wall; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Slab, Wedge And Circle sold at auction in July 2008 with the realized price of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 34,939.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 65 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Brian Wall zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 13.200,00 (€ 19.605,05) und damit 65% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Brian Wall; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Slab, Wedge And Circle im Juli 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 34.939,06).
