In October last year Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Nowhere Boogie by Brian Calvin. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 75,600.00 (€ 88,073.16), 51% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Brian Calvin; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot California Freeform sold at auction in June 2021 with the realized price of USD 151,200.00 (€ 127,616.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nowhere Boogie von Brian Calvin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 75.600,00 (€ 88.073,16) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Brian Calvin; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit California Freeform im Juni 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 151.200,00 (€ 127.616,48).
