Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Fall (Looking At Richter Photo With Carol And Roberto, On Computer 1, Joel’S Phone On Lauro Table, Lucile Ave Apt Steps 1, Mirror In ___Bathroom) by Brendan Fowler was auctioned at Sothebys in London in August 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,528.00 (€ 3,953.33). Admittedly, works by Brendan Fowler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Spring 2011 (½ X ½" Clear Pine Molding Inside Of The Car W/Show Card Black Mirror 2, Phil Loading Truck, Mirror In Miami) in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 34,375.00 (€ 25,201.61).

Als die Arbeit Fall (Looking At Richter Photo With Carol And Roberto, On Computer 1, Joel’S Phone On Lauro Table, Lucile Ave Apt Steps 1, Mirror In ___Bathroom) von Brendan Fowler im August 2020 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.528,00 (€ 3.953,33) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Brendan Fowler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Spring 2011 (½ X ½" Clear Pine Molding Inside Of The Car W/Show Card Black Mirror 2, Phil Loading Truck, Mirror In Miami) im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 34.375,00 (€ 25.201,61).
