Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Snow Drift by Bradford Washburn was auctioned at Bonhams in Skinner Boston in January 2024, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,152.00 (€ 1,006.82). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bradford Washburn - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sunset at 41,000 Feet, Mount McKinley, Alaska, which sold at auction in January 2024 for USD 4,352.00 (€ 3,803.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Snow Drift von Bradford Washburn im Januar 2024 bei Bonhams in Skinner Boston versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.152,00 (€ 1.006,82) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Bradford Washburn mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sunset at 41,000 Feet, Mount McKinley, Alaska beobachtet, die im Januar 2024 für USD 4.352,00 (€ 3.803,53) versteigert wurde.
