Despite a disappointment, a good price for Boyd Webb
When the work Judy by Boyd Webb was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2000, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 9,987.50 (€ 10,988.56). Despite this disappointing result, Judy is the most expensive artwork by Boyd Webb that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Boyd Webb
Als die Arbeit Judy von Boyd Webb im April 2000 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 9.987,50 (€ 10.988,56) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Judy das teuerste Kunstwerk von Boyd Webb, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
