Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Vodka; Stalin And Lepeshinskaya by Boris Orlov was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,669.59). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Boris Orlov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work General in October 2019 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 89,645.90).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Vodka; Stalin And Lepeshinskaya von Boris Orlov im November 2011 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.669,59) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Boris Orlov erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit General im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 89.645,90).
