Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Russian Pictures, which included the work Sailor and Sportswoman by Boris Orlov. The price achieved of GBP 23,940.00 (€ 28,107.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Boris Orlov - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work General, which sold at auction in October 2019 for USD 100,000.00 (€ 89,645.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Russian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sailor and Sportswoman von Boris Orlov zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 23.940,00 (€ 28.107,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Boris Orlov mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit General beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für USD 100.000,00 (€ 89.645,90) versteigert wurde.
