Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Russian Pictures, which included the work The Joy Of Victory by Boris Orlov. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,420.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Boris Orlov - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work General, which sold at auction in October 2019 for USD 100,000.00 (€ 89,645.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Russian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Joy Of Victory von Boris Orlov zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 26.420,50) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Boris Orlov mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit General beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für USD 100.000,00 (€ 89.645,90) versteigert wurde.
