Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Holy Family With Saint Dorothy And The Infant John The Baptist, And Tobias With An Angel by Bonifazio de' Pitati was sold in the Important Old Master Paintings & Sculpture auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2011. The price achieved of USD 98,500.00 (€ 71,819.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by Bonifazio de' Pitati have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Christ driving the money changers from the Temple in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 600,000.00 (€ 515,154.12).
