This artwork by Bonifazio de' Pitati achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2010. In the Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction, the work Holy Family With Saint Elizabeth, The Infant St. John, And Two Shepherds sold for USD 194,500.00 (€ 140,230.71) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bonifazio de' Pitati - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Christ driving the money changers from the Temple, which sold at auction in October 2020 for USD 600,000.00 (€ 515,154.12).
