Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Study for Black Umbrella--Times Square by Bill Jacklin was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,044.44). Admittedly, works by Bill Jacklin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Black Umbrella, Times Square III in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 32,450.00 (€ 38,863.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Study for Black Umbrella--Times Square von Bill Jacklin im Oktober 2010 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.044,44) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bill Jacklin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Black Umbrella, Times Square III im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 32.450,00 (€ 38.863,46).
