The work René Magritte by Bill Brandt was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October last year. It achieved a price of USD 5,670.00 (€ 5,707.67), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 62%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bill Brandt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Van Gogh'S Room In The Asylum Of St. Paul-De-Mausole (St. Rémy)' in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 265,000.00 (€ 170,220.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 62 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit René Magritte von Bill Brandt kam im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 5.670,00 (€ 5.707,67) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 62%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bill Brandt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Van Gogh'S Room In The Asylum Of St. Paul-De-Mausole (St. Rémy)' im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 265.000,00 (€ 170.220,97).
