Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mrs. J In Rain by Bikash Bhattacharjee was sold in the Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Sothebys in London in September 2020. It changed hands for a price of GBP 11,970.00 (€ 13,198.87) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bikash Bhattacharjee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Red Balloon in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 102,000.00 (€ 150,099.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mrs. J In Rain von Bikash Bhattacharjee wurde im September 2020 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 11.970,00 (€ 13.198,87) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bikash Bhattacharjee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Red Balloon im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 102.000,00 (€ 150.099,90).
