Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Miss J by Bikash Bhattacharjee was sold in the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Sothebys in London in October 2021. The price achieved of GBP 12,600.00 (€ 14,927.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bikash Bhattacharjee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Red Balloon in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 102,000.00 (€ 150,099.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Miss J von Bikash Bhattacharjee wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.600,00 (€ 14.927,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bikash Bhattacharjee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Red Balloon im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 102.000,00 (€ 150.099,90).
