Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Evening Class by Bikash Bhattacharjee was sold in the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Sothebys in London in October 2021. The price achieved of GBP 25,200.00 (€ 29,855.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Bikash Bhattacharjee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Red Balloon in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 102,000.00 (€ 150,099.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Evening Class von Bikash Bhattacharjee wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 25.200,00 (€ 29.855,19) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bikash Bhattacharjee auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Red Balloon im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 102.000,00 (€ 150.099,90).
