Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bottle Vase With Brushed Motif by Bernard Leach was sold in the Made in Britain auction at Sothebys in London in March 2016. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,998.67) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bernard Leach achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vase With 'Leaping Fish' Design in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 38,346.80).

Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.375,00 (€ 2.998,67) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bernard Leach erzielen.
