Upper estimate price exceeded by 88 %.
This artwork by Bernard Cohen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in September 2017. In the Made in Britain auction, the work The Day The Berlin Wall Went Up sold for GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,701.77) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bernard Cohen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grey Place in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 37,011.44).
