In September 2007 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work The Adoration of the Shepherds by Benjamin Gerritsz. Cuyp. The result of EUR 2,000.00 was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benjamin Gerritsz. Cuyp achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gegenstücke: Schlachtfest vor einem Wirtshaus - Würfelnde Soldaten und Reiter vor einem Marketenderzelt. in March 2007 with an auction result of CHF 57,600.00 (€ 35,514.40).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2007 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Adoration of the Shepherds von Benjamin Gerritsz. Cuyp zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 2.000,00 entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Benjamin Gerritsz. Cuyp erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gegenstücke: Schlachtfest vor einem Wirtshaus - Würfelnde Soldaten und Reiter vor einem Marketenderzelt. im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 57.600,00 (€ 35.514,40).
