In June 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings, which included the work Adoration Of The Shepherds by Benjamin Gerritsz. Cuyp. The result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,448.09) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Benjamin Gerritsz. Cuyp - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gegenstücke: Schlachtfest vor einem Wirtshaus - Würfelnde Soldaten und Reiter vor einem Marketenderzelt., which sold at auction in March 2007 for CHF 57,600.00 (€ 35,514.40).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juni 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Adoration Of The Shepherds von Benjamin Gerritsz. Cuyp zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 13.448,09) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Benjamin Gerritsz. Cuyp mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gegenstücke: Schlachtfest vor einem Wirtshaus - Würfelnde Soldaten und Reiter vor einem Marketenderzelt. beobachtet, die im März 2007 für CHF 57.600,00 (€ 35.514,40) versteigert wurde.
