Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Peasants merry-making in a barn by Benjamin Gerritsz. Cuyp was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2021. The price achieved of GBP 4,788.00 (€ 5,624.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Benjamin Gerritsz. Cuyp have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gegenstücke: Schlachtfest vor einem Wirtshaus - Würfelnde Soldaten und Reiter vor einem Marketenderzelt. in March 2007 with an auction result of CHF 57,600.00 (€ 35,514.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Peasants merry-making in a barn von Benjamin Gerritsz. Cuyp kam im März 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.788,00 (€ 5.624,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Benjamin Gerritsz. Cuyp auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gegenstücke: Schlachtfest vor einem Wirtshaus - Würfelnde Soldaten und Reiter vor einem Marketenderzelt. im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 57.600,00 (€ 35.514,40).
