Auction result misses estimated price range
In January last year a collector was able to acquire the work Martin Luther King by Ben Shahn for USD 956.00 (€ 852.66). This price was achieved in the auction Prints & Multiples at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ben Shahn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scabbies are Welcome in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 262,400.00 (€ 206,825.88).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Martin Luther King von Ben Shahn für USD 956,00 (€ 852,66) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Prints & Multiples bei Bonhams in Los Angeles erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ben Shahn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Scabbies are Welcome im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 262.400,00 (€ 206.825,88).
