The work Woman with Short Bob by Ben Shahn was sold in the American Art Online auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,304.00 (€ 2,125.66), 54% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ben Shahn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scabbies are Welcome in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 262,400.00 (€ 206,825.88).

Die Arbeit Woman with Short Bob von Ben Shahn wurde im August diesen Jahres in der Auktion American Art Online bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.304,00 (€ 2.125,66) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ben Shahn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Scabbies are Welcome im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 262.400,00 (€ 206.825,88).
