Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Jpn 36 - 42 by Ben Schumacher was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 750.00 (€ 832.81). Admittedly, works by Ben Schumacher have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Yet To Be Titled in February 2016 with an auction result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 7,688.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Jpn 36 - 42 von Ben Schumacher im Oktober 2020 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 750,00 (€ 832,81) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ben Schumacher auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Yet To Be Titled im Februar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 7.688,26).
