Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Beauford Delaney achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in June 2021. In the Post War & Contemporary Art auction, the work Embrun sold for EUR 32,500.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Beauford Delaney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work James Baldwin in October last year with an auction result of GBP 1,026,000.00 (€ 1,195,278.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Beauford Delaney erzielte im Juni 2021 bei Christies einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post War & Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Embrun für EUR 32.500,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Beauford Delaney erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit James Baldwin im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.026.000,00 (€ 1.195.278,64).
