Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Adolphe de Meyer achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in October 2012. In the Photographs auction, the work Windows On The Bosphorus sold for USD 68,500.00 (€ 52,863.10) - well above the upper estimate of USD 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Adolphe de Meyer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Water Lilies, which sold at auction in October 2017 for GBP 125,000.00 (€ 142,524.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Adolphe de Meyer erzielte im Oktober 2012 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit Windows On The Bosphorus für USD 68.500,00 (€ 52.863,10) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 25.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Adolphe de Meyer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Water Lilies beobachtet, die im Oktober 2017 für GBP 125.000,00 (€ 142.524,47) versteigert wurde.
