The »bidding war« ended at GBP 16,250.00 (€ 20,645.81), 35% above the upper estimate. Other works by Baldassare De Caro have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 34,850.00 (€ 36,602.64) in December 2008 for the work An Upturned Basket Of Figs, Together With Apricots, Other Fruit And Flowers In A Landscape Setting.
