Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Indian and Southeast Asian Art including Modern and, which included the work 'I Hear You' (Continuum) by Baiju Parthan. The price achieved of USD 13,200.00 (€ 10,947.09) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Baiju Parthan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Archeology - Arrival at Lancashire in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 169,000.00 (€ 106,928.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Indian and Southeast Asian Art including Modern and durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'I Hear You' (Continuum) von Baiju Parthan zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 13.200,00 (€ 10.947,09) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Baiju Parthan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Archeology - Arrival at Lancashire im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 169.000,00 (€ 106.928,19).
