Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Baiju Parthan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2007. In the Modern and Contemporary Indian Art auction, the work Archeology - House of Spice sold for USD 54,000.00 (€ 40,376.85) - well above the upper estimate of USD 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Baiju Parthan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Archeology - Arrival at Lancashire, which sold at auction in March 2008 for USD 169,000.00 (€ 106,928.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Baiju Parthan erzielte im März 2007 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Indian Art wurde die Arbeit Archeology - House of Spice für USD 54.000,00 (€ 40.376,85) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 25.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Baiju Parthan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Archeology - Arrival at Lancashire beobachtet, die im März 2008 für USD 169.000,00 (€ 106.928,19) versteigert wurde.
