Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Two Centuries: American Art, which included the work Landscape with Cows and sheep by Asher Brown Durand. The price achieved of USD 37,800.00 (€ 32,721.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Asher Brown Durand achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mountain Stream in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 967,500.00 (€ 861,071.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Two Centuries: American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape with Cows and sheep von Asher Brown Durand zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 37.800,00 (€ 32.721,61) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Asher Brown Durand erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mountain Stream im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 967.500,00 (€ 861.071,56).
