Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Landscape Study, Dover Plains, New York by Asher Brown Durand was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 22,500.00 (€ 20,181.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Asher Brown Durand achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mountain Stream in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 967,500.00 (€ 861,071.56).
