In January 2024 Christies in New York held the auction 19th Century American & Western Art, which included the work The Story Teller by Asher Brown Durand. The »bidding war« ended at USD 20,160.00 (€ 17,619.30), 34% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Asher Brown Durand achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mountain Stream in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 967,500.00 (€ 861,071.56).

Im Januar 2024 führte Christies in New York die Auktion 19th Century American & Western Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Story Teller von Asher Brown Durand zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 20.160,00 (€ 17.619,30) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Asher Brown Durand erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mountain Stream im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 967.500,00 (€ 861.071,56).
