Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction British & Irish Art, which included the work A Yacht From The Imperial Yacht Club Of Russia, Off Cowes by Arthur Wellington Fowles. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 16,091.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arthur Wellington Fowles - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Indian troopship Serapis arriving at Portsmouth, 11 May 1876, with H.R.H. The Prince of Wales aboard her on his return from India, and the Royal yacht Osborne following her in, which sold at auction in November 2000 for GBP 22,325.00 (€ 36,489.33).

Im Dezember 2014 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion British & Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Yacht From The Imperial Yacht Club Of Russia, Off Cowes von Arthur Wellington Fowles zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 16.091,65) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden.
