Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The rescue by Arthur Wellington Fowles was sold in the The Marine Sale auction at Bonhams in London in October this year. The price achieved of GBP 1,280.00 (€ 1,469.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Wellington Fowles achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Indian troopship Serapis arriving at Portsmouth, 11 May 1876, with H.R.H. The Prince of Wales aboard her on his return from India, and the Royal yacht Osborne following her in in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 22,325.00 (€ 36,489.33).

Die Arbeit The rescue von Arthur Wellington Fowles wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion The Marine Sale bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.280,00 (€ 1.469,80) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden.
