This artwork by Arthur Hughes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Olympia in March 2007. In the British & Continental Paintings auction, the work An Ayrshire Glen sold for GBP 2,640.00 (€ 3,885.78) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Hughes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Birthday Picnic - Portraits of the children of William and Anne Pattinson of Felling, near Gateshead in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 380,650.00 (€ 555,736.99).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Hughes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Birthday Picnic - Portraits of the children of William and Anne Pattinson of Felling, near Gateshead im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 380.650,00 (€ 555.736,99).
