Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Arthur Hughes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2006. In the Victorian & Edwardian Art auction, the work An Ayrshire Glen sold for GBP 3,840.00 (€ 5,699.04) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Hughes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Birthday Picnic - Portraits of the children of William and Anne Pattinson of Felling, near Gateshead in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 380,650.00 (€ 555,736.99).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Arthur Hughes erzielte im Dezember 2006 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Victorian & Edwardian Art wurde die Arbeit An Ayrshire Glen für GBP 3.840,00 (€ 5.699,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Hughes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Birthday Picnic - Portraits of the children of William and Anne Pattinson of Felling, near Gateshead im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 380.650,00 (€ 555.736,99).
