This artwork by Arthur Hacker achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2011. In the Victorian & British Impressionist Art auction, the work The couch burners sold for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 27,725.69) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Arthur Hacker have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Musicienne du Silence in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 77,675.00 (€ 111,623.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 98 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Arthur Hacker erzielte im November 2011 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art wurde die Arbeit The couch burners für GBP 23.750,00 (€ 27.725,69) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Hacker auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Musicienne du Silence im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 77.675,00 (€ 111.623,20).
