Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Trees Behind the House by Arthur Dove was sold in the American Art Online auction at Christies in New York in May 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,211.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Dove achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunset in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 7,802,500.00 (€ 6,912,820.06).

Die Arbeit Trees Behind the House von Arthur Dove wurde im Mai 2019 in der Auktion American Art Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.211,77) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
