Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Composition by Arshile Gorky was sold in the 20th Century Evening Sale auction at Christies in New York in November 2021. The price achieved of USD 5,180,000.00 (€ 4,589,350.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,500,000.00 – 5,500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Arshile Gorky have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Charred Beloved I in November this year with an auction result of USD 23,410,000.00 (€ 21,461,312.80).

Die Arbeit Composition von Arshile Gorky wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion 20th Century Evening Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.180.000,00 (€ 4.589.350,58) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.500.000,00 – 5.500.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arshile Gorky auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Charred Beloved I im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.410.000,00 (€ 21.461.312,80).
