In March last year Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak, which included the work Woman Plucking Flowers by Arpita Singh. The »bidding war« ended at USD 819,000.00 (€ 738,303.43), 37% above the upper estimate. With this result, Woman Plucking Flowers is even the most expensive work of art by Arpita Singh that we have observed at auctions so far.
