Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art, which included the work Man Carrying Flowers by Arpita Singh. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 75,000.00 (€ 63,699.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arpita Singh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman Plucking Flowers in March last year with an auction result of USD 819,000.00 (€ 738,303.43).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Man Carrying Flowers von Arpita Singh zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 63.699,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arpita Singh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Woman Plucking Flowers im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 819.000,00 (€ 738.303,43).
