Auction result well in line with expectations
In September last year Christies in New York held the auction Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba, which included the work My Daughter by Arpita Singh. The price achieved of USD 315,000.00 (€ 321,987.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arpita Singh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Woman Plucking Flowers, which sold at auction in March last year for USD 819,000.00 (€ 738,303.43).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba durch, in der auch die Arbeit My Daughter von Arpita Singh zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 315.000,00 (€ 321.987,12) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Arpita Singh mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Woman Plucking Flowers beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für USD 819.000,00 (€ 738.303,43) versteigert wurde.
