In September last year Christies in New York held the auction Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba, which included the work Untitled (Railway Station) by Arpita Singh. The »bidding war« ended at USD 32,760.00 (€ 33,486.66), 64% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arpita Singh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman Plucking Flowers in March last year with an auction result of USD 819,000.00 (€ 738,303.43).

Im September letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Railway Station) von Arpita Singh zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 32.760,00 (€ 33.486,66) und damit 64% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arpita Singh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Woman Plucking Flowers im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 819.000,00 (€ 738.303,43).
